Review Denoir Cosmetics Golden Hour Another product I’ve been testing out for @CertCleanInc Clean Beauty Awards! About the brand: The word Denoir is a blended word meaning “of black” and it symbolizes not only the creative force behind the brand, a black woman, but also the thoughtful design for pigmented skin tones—across the spectrum of shades. I also love Denoir’s statement that Beauty is Inclusive, not Exclusive. I like that they have an ingredients list and also explain why they use mineral or synthetic pigments instead of natural or plant based dyes or pigments. Thoughts: I was given Golden Hour to test. The color is described on the website as echoing “the allure of the sun's final embrace, casting a rich tone that defines sophistication. Illuminate your look and bask in the opulence of 'Golden Hour’.” It’s a lovely romantic description of the shade. The lipstick is a creme type lipstick. The color looks a little like berry and a liitle like red brown but when you put it on, its a beautiful warm red. The color is pigmented and very smooth. It's quite color fast and feels light. It is also flattering and would suit most skintones, making it a very wearable shade. I also like how you can build the color - a single swipe will give you a natural soft red but two swipes gets you a bolder look. The packaging is elegant and sleek. I really like that it came in a little gift box. It made the lipstick feel special. I really like the color enough that I’d happily purchase more from the brand.
Golden Hour by Denoir Cosmetics is an organic color that lasts with sheen and soft texture. It reveals plump lips without smudging. The pigment is comparable to a natural version of Nars which is one of the best lipstick pigments money can buy. The packaging is gorgeous looking sleek and chic. I love the deep brown box and black theme as well as the font and minimalism. I adore that it has a vampy and art deco feel of old Hollywood. That you can have that glamour and pigment similar to non organic brands but have it be certified clean.The ingredients are also vegan and cruelty free. I love the name “Golden Hour.” The packaging works well and is clean.The clean lipstick brand is elegant and high end. With a nod to the golden ages of glamour as chic as you can get.
This is a true lipstick, and one of few in this category. I loved the ease of use, and the fact that this shade is quite pigmented and a bit matte. It lacks moisture, but makes up for it in staying power, so balance what is most important to you! I personally love a hydrating lip so I would like to see this formula updated to be more creamy.
