I don't know about you, but to me an aloe vera gel isn't the sexiest or most intriguing of skincare or body care products. It seems like one of those things that is great to have on hand, and it has its specific uses, but isn't necessarily something that's exciting. …or so I thought. Hear me out. The Dr. Orga Skin Soothing Gel has really changed my relationship with aloe vera gels. Before trying this one out fo the Cert Clean Clean Beauty Awards, I really only thought of an aloe gel as something for a sunburn, or maybe a mild burn from cooking or a curling iron. That has totally changed for me. While this product is suggested to sooth those forms of inflammation on the skin, it also reminds that aloe is not just soothing, but hydrating. It recommends use of this product on inflamed skin of anykind — that includes breakouts, dry patches, mild skin reactions. Those are the things I am battling most right now! This seamlessly working its way into my skincare & body care routines. I use this as a serum on any areas that are inflamed, irritated, red, or dry. Then applying a moisturizer and/or oil on top really seals in that added hydration. This is also great to add hydration even without any sort of stress on the skin, as aloe vera is a natural humectant. AND it is not sticky!! I have found this to be so useful, and really quite versatile. My minor complaint is simply that it can be difficult to control the amount that comes out. The size makes sense for use on the body, as you will likely use a quarter size amount or more depending on the area. For use on the face, however, I just need an amount the size of a blueberry which can be a little bit harder to manage.
I would consider this aloe gel to be more of a serum vs a daily hydrator as mentioned on the packaging. Its soothing, easily absorbing unlike many aloe gels on the market.
