Inspired by moonlight glistening on the smooth surface of the Naiad’s pond; this brightening, clarifying, texture refining serum is bursting with bio-actives. Niacinamide visibly brightens, refines the appearance of pores, and balances sebum production. Bakuchiol is a naturally derived retinol-alternative that helps lessen the appearance of fine lines, and visibly smooth skin texture. Panthenol and Milk Thistle soothe, protect, and hydrate. Butterfly Pea Flower and Green Tea provide antioxidant protection. This oil-free, hydrating serum features 4% Niacinamide, 2% Panthenol, and 1% Bakuchiol Extract. These bio-actives in these specific percentages are gentle, results driven, and suitable for sensitive and reactive skin.
This packaging 💜 is just so special! They really paid attention to the details to convey their aesthetic and the type of experience they want you to have. ✨skincare as a present moment, a daily ritual, care for your skin and your soul ✨ The experience: This was my first time using a serum that required you to wet your face before applying. I’ve seen some brands suggest using a a hydrating mist or essence before a serum to help them sink into the skin, but this product in particular needs the water to mix with it as the serum alone is concentrated, and is most beneficial when paired with water. This allows the Potion Masters to provide you with more of the good stuff, which will then last longer in your routine since you provide the water yourself. I thought I wouldn’t mind it or I’d get used to that added step, but I found it to be a little inconvenient. I hear myself, the extra step to remember that takes only a handful of seconds shouldn’t be bothersome. 🤷🏼♀️ for me it was. Especially at night, I just want to be able to move through my skincare routine without extra fuss. As for the serum — there was just a faint herbal scent, but quite minimal. The texture is this, almost slippery. The results: I enjoyed the unique qualities of this product that felt like I was indulging by using a special potion in my routine. I did find that my skin felt slightly smoother while using it, but haven’t used it long enough yet to know if it brightens or refines the appearance of pores. A beautiful product, thoughtfully crafted. I look forward to testing it further!
THE POTION Masters Cosmetics NAIAD NECTAR Refining Facial Serum review for CertClean's 2024 Clean Beauty Awards. A Canadian brand, made in my home province Alberta. Happy to support local Canadian brands. Let’s start with my first impression, the gorgeous bottle. A frosted glass bottle with a gold top and dropper. A unique purple emblem on the label of a moon. Eco-conscious cardboard packaging is always recyclable or compostable. The pretty colored serum, a blue-ish purple light weight silky serum. Colour comes from Butterly Pea Flowers, which each bottle may vary in shades. The texture is slippery, fast absorbing with a dewy finish. The Potion Masters serums are waterless, handmade, natural, concentrated & preservatives free. There are no synthetic chemicals or additives. Contains effective bio-active ingredients: 1% Bakuchiol- natural retinol alternative reduces fine lines smoothes skin 2% Panthenol & Milk Thistle- soothes & hydrates 4% Niacinamide- brightens, reduces pores &sebum Green Tea- antioxidant Claims: brighten, clarify and refine texture. “3-for-1” Replacing clarifying toner, hydrating essence & texture refining serum. Waterless solution makes it ultra-concentrated, lasting longer than several bottles of water-based serums. Being waterless it must be used on wet skin, right after cleansing & before moisturizer. Can also be used on a cotton pad as a toner. Great for mature acne prone skin (my skin type). Oil & fragrance free which is always my preference. I used this nectar nightly. Made my skin appear brighter and smoother. I like that it’s a multipurpose serum, saving time in my routine. Beautiful serum so happy to have been introduced to this brand. Thanks CertClean for making me a judge for 2024 clean beauty awards for the 2nd year.
Not only is the bottle gorgeous, the colour and texture are as well. While Bakuchiol oil is one of my most favourite oils, this product also hosts Niacinamide. As a Naturopathic Doctor, I have used Niacinamide or rather NAD+ with patients, so it is wonderful to see it used as a combination with Bakuchiol oil. This product was incredibly soothing to the skin and left a gentle glow. Perfect for sensitive skin and or acne prone skin. I would highly recommend
