Here's the tea. Literally. Rooibos is the very first ingredient in this serum, accompanied by a lovely variety of of botanicals and herbs. The scent is earthy with a delicate floral note. Really quite a soothing aroma. Don't be alarmed by the color of this serum, though -- a mucky yellow, simply the result of a blend of such pure ingredients. My overall experience: I sensorial experience of this serum is just lovely -- from the scent to the lightweight texture, and gentle formula. Some brightening serums can be too potent or irritating on my skin, but I've really found this to be gentle and soothing on my skin. It sinks in beautifully (without my skin looking yellow, don't worry!) and layers nicely under other products. The only thing I would caution you with is the pump mechanism -- sometimes it shoots the product out into my hand aggressively and some will splash onto the counter or my clothes; not ideal. While I can't speak to the claims of fading discoloration or smoothing texture & lines, I look forward to continue using this in my routine and hope to see those results with long-term consistent use.
