As clean beauty continues to grow, sustainability is no longer limited to what’s inside the bottle—it now extends to the packaging itself. At the 2025 Clean Beauty Awards, judges recognized a surge in submissions that emphasized eco-conscious, low-waste packaging. From compostable tubes to refillable glass containers, this year's products demonstrate how brands are innovating to reduce environmental impact without sacrificing aesthetics or function.

Judges carefully evaluated not only product performance but also the materials and design choices that contribute to a more sustainable beauty industry. This trend highlights the industry’s growing commitment to circular practices, minimalism, and mindful consumption.

Reusable and Low-Waste Designs

Bright Body – Hydrating Gel

Bright Body earned praise for its commitment to sustainability through reusable packaging. Shannon Grant (@fightingmothernature) noted, “Bright Body’s Hydrating Gel containers are refillable, which is a standout for me.” A clean formula paired with waste-reducing packaging shows how beauty can be both thoughtful and practical.

Nuthatch Naturals – Daily Soothing Lotion

Shannon Grant (@fightingmothernature) also highlighted Nuthatch Naturals’ approach: “Nuthatch Naturals looks like they’re committed to sustainability and reusable packaging.” It’s a small packaging choice with long-term environmental impact.

Tulita – Agati

Tulita brings sustainability into every element of design. Sherry Chen (@mochiandblush) explained, “Their packaging is proudly FSC certified. Their formulations are biodegradable, fragrances are refillable and reusable, and their Crystal Cap is crafted for upcycling and reuse onto the Gua Sha massage stone handle.” It’s a perfect blend of ritual, elegance, and eco-consciousness.

Glass and Minimalist Packaging

Twin Skin – Skinmimetic Moisture Essence Roman Chamomile

Glass continues to be a preferred material for eco-friendly packaging. “The glass bottle was a selling point,” said Shannon Mann (@oysterstopearls). “Clean beauty should be free from plastics which could leach into the product.”

Rosemira Organics – Camellia & Apricot Cleansing Oil

Rachel Perez (@rachel7leo) also praised Rosemira Organics’ thoughtful packaging: “Housed in a sleek glass bottle with a pump dispenser… practical and eco-friendly, adding a touch of elegance while minimizing waste.”

PN Artisan Luxury – Oxygenated Facial Cleanser

This bar cleanser skips the bottle altogether. Elena Gutorova (@kellsy2901) commented, “The cleanser bar itself eliminates the need for plastic bottles, reducing waste. Plus, the minimal, biodegradable packaging makes it an even more sustainable choice.”

Compostable, Biodegradable, and Recyclable Innovations

Lavish Earth – Wild Mint Lip Balm

Alli Gilmore (@theallimarie) appreciated its end-of-life design: “Felt great to use knowing that it will be able to either be used in a compost or eventually biodegrade.” Compostable packaging is a small change with a big impact.

Farmstead Apothecary – Face Cream

Thoughtful shipping materials also made an impression. “Farmstead Apothecary used plant-based packing peanuts, paper wadding, and paper tape,” shared Lindsay Fuller (@cleanlivingwithlindsay). “The way they packaged the product looked very nice.”

Hueliá Botanicals – FLOREA A.M. Beauty Concentrate Serum

Innovative protection meets sustainability in Hueliá’s design. Yenis Monterrey (@yenismonterrey) said, “It’s a reusable felt holder that keeps fragile products protected while reducing paper and packing materials. I now use it to hold a breakable skincare item when I travel.”

Scentuals – Rosemary Mint Body Wash

Recyclable plastic remains a valuable option for accessibility and convenience. “The fact that the bottle is made from recyclable plastic is a huge plus,” said Yenis Monterrey (@yenismonterrey).

Sans Savon – Body Wash

Samantha Kolk (@hullosam) was impressed by Sans Savon’s use of “100% post-consumer plastic,” pointing to a stronger circular approach to packaging.

Dr. Lipp – Superfood Tint Trio Pack

Dr. Lipp’s packaging aligns with their minimalist formulations. Sherry Chen (@mochiandblush) explained, “They also do 100% recyclable packaging, and carbon capturing bioplastic packaging because they believe these three changes will make the biggest positive impact.”

The 2025 Clean Beauty Awards show that packaging isn’t just an afterthought—it’s part of the product’s purpose. These brands are raising the bar by designing with reuse, recyclability, and biodegradability in mind, making sustainability feel like second nature.
