It is dedicated to creating effective and sustainable skincare options.

This brand promises to commit to creating genuinely eco-friendly product offerings and setting a high standard of quality and ethical manufacturing processes by prioritizing sustainable ingredients and packaging, making them certified by the Palm Oil Free Certification Trademark.

The Eco Alchemist was launched in May 2021 by Holistic Nutritionist and Cosmetic Formulator Terri Kirkham, who has been making personal care products for nearly a decade. After a deep dive into nutrition, she discovered her passion for the industry, and environmental studies had her seeking out more natural product options.

The brand was created out of a need to supply palm-free shampoo & conditioner bars to the Canadian market and expanded to include skin care, dramatically improving her skin issues. Efficacy, sustainability, and eco-conscious packaging solutions are key aspects of the brand. After operating a health food store, Terri saw how many plastic bottles are consumed with beauty & wellness products and felt compelled to become a part of the change.

What problem or need did your brand see in the beauty industry that inspired you to create a solution?

The brand was created out of a need to provide Canadian-made shampoo and conditioner bars that were free from palm oil derivatives. It wasn't easy to do, as palm oil can be hidden in many forms, but we are proud to say that The Eco Alchemist is the first shampoo bar company in Canada to be Certified Palm Oil Free!

What are the specialty products that The Eco Alchemist offers, and what sets it apart from other brands?

Creating eco alternatives to everyday products is our specialty. We formulate using only palm-free plant-powered ingredients that are clean, vegan, and free from artificial fragrances. The line includes a wealth of waterless goods such as shampoo & conditioner bars, cleansing bars, and powdered facial masks & cleansers that greatly reduce packaging waste. To help the scent-sensitive folks out there, we also offer an unscented line of products called Non-Scents.

What is one of your hero products? And why is this a product worth boasting about?

We are very passionate about each one of our products, but the creation of the shampoo bars got us jazzed up enough to take the leap to launch. There are 6 variations to choose from, targeting a variety of hair and scalp needs. The lather is dense, and creamy and leaves your hair feeling manageable and free from residue. Being the first to offer this low-waste product without using palm derivatives is something we are incredibly proud of.

What is your brand's long-term vision for the future, and how do you see it evolving in the coming years?

We plan to continue to create innovative products that reduce waste and will always be 100% palm free. We are a young company mainly operating in the e-commerce space but are starting to branch out into wholesale which was always a goal of ours. As more people discover and try our products, we aim to become a household name for the eco-conscious consumer.

Now that you know who The Eco Alchemist is and what they stand for - are you curious to discover a palm-free, Canadian-made, shampoo bar that lathers? Remember, if you choose to support their brand, you are also committing to creating a more sustainable world by leaving a reduced footprint and saving palm plantations, wildlife, and the environment from harmful practices. It's a small step that can make a significant difference in our planet's health and well-being.
